1 airport

a little bit of drama - lost luggage

after a dash through the airport we were held up at baggage claim, and missed the bus.
Not a huge problem, as there was another in two hours.
The main issue was/is a bag has gone missing, (hence the hold up) and the lost luggage number for Brittish Airways in Hamburg didn't work.
The person who's bag has gone missing: Dave, who is currently without clothes, sleeping bag and his own tent.
All of which is either at Heathrow T5, or Hamburg, either which way it didn't come through to baggage claim.

As we will be somewhat later than planned getting to camp, we will miss the first meal, so it was emergency catering at  hamburg airport, courtesy of Mc Donalds, scouts were happy with that.

We've got about 30 minutes to clear luggage claim, passport control, and to find the bus that will take us to camp in Denmark

Online Tuckshop

First time I've seen this on a camp, parents in the UK ( and anywhere else)  can buy sweets and treats for Scouts on the camp in Denmark, these are then delivered to the Scout from the tuck shop at camp
Run this through google translate : https://spejderpost.dk/

in English:

Postcards and packages

At Jamboree Denmark 2017, you can send postcards and goodies to a scout/guide by entering the jamboree’s post shop. Here you can write a letter to the scout/guide and then the jamboree’s post centre will print it on a postcard and deliver it to the scout/guide.
If your friend or your child needs to be spoiled a little, then you can also buy some sweets, both the healthy and the less healthy kind, which the post centre will put in an envelope with the postcard.
Do you know someone whose birthday takes place during Jamboree Denmark 2017? Then you can order a ”kagemand” (buns or cake formed as a girl or a boy and topped with sweets). Then we deliver a postcard to the scout/guide with information of when and where the cake can be picked up.

Tomorow, were off on our summer camp to Denmark joining 40,000 (forty thousand!) Scouts +Guides at SL2017 webcam :http://foto.sl2017.dk/cam1/
