evening meal
just off to the evening meal a joint effort cooked in the subcamp quarter between all the group's, and we are all going to eat together. we've been boiling vegetables
hot in the sun
The sun is out and beating down, the scouts are put and about in some activities, and soon will be helping with a cooking task

scouts are off to explore the camp for the evening, loads going off, and I'm going for a shower, in a part of the subcamp I don't think the scouts have discovered yet

So far, had breakfast, the scouts have been on an activity called back to nature, which is a virtual reality experience, some are on caps activity, and others are doing cycle orienteering. activity sign up is all online via the app/webpage http://sl17.dk. some of us the leaders have been over to see James who is camping with another group on another part of the camp.
from our part of the camp to the area where james is camping is a round trip of about 5.5km. there are approximately 10,000 on our subcamp alone.

scouts all back, some have found burger King late this evening after the opening ceremony isn't the camp wristband to pay.
should be out of activities tomorrow, due to the vast size of the camp it will be hard to keep a track on who is where.

good night
took over an hour to walk from the bus drop off, through the vast subcamps, tents up, scouts getting in tents, sleep soon.

got a long walk over rough grass
long walk to camp, some scouts have wheeled bags that won't move very well on the grass!
a little bit of drama - lost luggage
after a dash through the airport we were held up at baggage claim, and missed the bus.
Not a huge problem, as there was another in two hours.
The main issue was/is a bag has gone missing, (hence the hold up) and the lost luggage number for Brittish Airways in Hamburg didn't work.
The person who's bag has gone missing: Dave, who is currently without clothes, sleeping bag and his own tent.
All of which is either at Heathrow T5, or Hamburg, either which way it didn't come through to baggage claim.
As we will be somewhat later than planned getting to camp, we will miss the first meal, so it was emergency catering at hamburg airport, courtesy of Mc Donalds, scouts were happy with that.

First time I've seen this on a camp, parents in the UK ( and anywhere else) can buy sweets and treats for Scouts on the camp in Denmark, these are then delivered to the Scout from the tuck shop at camp
